Ho Chee Boon's modern Cantonese tasting menu inside Chinatown's historic Empress of China building — sweeping city views, a dim sum service that doubles as art direction, and a Peking duck program that treats the bird with the seriousness it deserves. The room is gilded and theatrical without tipping into kitsch. One of the few SF rooms where Chinese fine dining feels celebratory rather than reverent.
