Eyal Shani — the Israeli chef behind Miznon and a Michelin star at Shmoné — brought his first kosher restaurant outside Israel to the Upper West Side. Malka cooks Shani's signature register: bold, market-driven, deceptively simple Israeli food, anchored by the Queen Malka schnitzel stuffed with mashed potato that made the original Tel Aviv room famous. The energy is loud and generous, the plates meant for sharing, the whole thing fully kosher-certified — a rarity at this level of ambition. Tel Aviv, transplanted to 72nd Street.
