N'Between is the Japanese izakaya-style listening bar hidden behind sister handroll restaurant Maki a Mano in Chelsea Market — accessed via a green-neon-lit alley entrance (3.wrks designed) with the menu accessed by sliding a 45rpm record out of its sleeve to scan a QR code. The cocktail program is led by Bar Manager Sheldon Wong and leans Japanese spirits (shochu, awamori, sake, Japanese whisky); food runs izakaya small bites (karaage, kanpachi, gyudon, yakitori) plus a viral mentaiko mac & cheese. The vinyl program is DJ-curated at select times — Japanese jazz, 80s disco, alternative Asian grooves — anchored on a hi-fi system that drives the room rather than the cocktail menu. Peer to Cluster 2's Tokyo Record Bar and Cluster 4's Bar Orai within NYC's vinyl-and-Japanese-bar subgenre, tuned to Chelsea Market and the Maki a Mano sibling. For vinyl + izakaya hidden behind a handroll counter — the menu-via-record-sleeve mechanism is the room's editorial signature.
